| Anyone who has ever looked at the moon through a telescope knows that catastrophic collisions of heavenly bodies are not at all uncommon in our solar system. I was surprised to learn that the earth actually gets hit every 100 years or so with a large meteor. Once in a great while though, you get a real monster moving real fast and here is what you get. Barringer Meteor Crater in Arizona |

| This is a fly over of meteor crater. Size can be very deceptive when you are in a plane. If you note the visitor center buildings and the parking lot that will give you a feel for how big this thing really is.
The big mountains in the back ground are the San Francisco Peaks about 45 miles away. Run time 4:02 |

| Some people call this just a big hole in the ground and I suppose in the most rudamentary way that's true. However, for me it takes on new meaning when you consider it was made by a great big rock moving real fast. This place is well worth seeing. It also gives you the feeling that some of that Nasa funding might actually be a good investment. | ||||||||||||||||||
